Dental Implants, Los Gatos & Saratoga

Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Dental implants are changing the way people live. With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life. The Joint Commission: Accredited Office Based Surgery

Los Gatos Oral & Facial Surgery has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Office-Based Surgery Accreditation consistently since 2002 by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective care.

Most recently, Los Gatos Oral & Facial Surgery underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite survey on September 28, 2017. During the review, compliance with office-based surgery standards was evaluated. Areas observed include coordination of care, patient education and training, proper monitoring of patients during procedures that involve deep sedation or anesthesia, and postoperative care plans. Onsite observations and interviews with staff were also conducted.

Lee R. Walker, MD, DDS is pleased to receive accreditation from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation. “Staff from across the organization continue to work together to develop and implement approaches and strategies that have the potential to improve care for the patients in our community.”

The Joint Commission’s office-based surgery standards are a subset of its ambulatory care standards and are developed with health care experts and providers, quality improvement measurement experts, and patients. The standards are supported by scientific literature and expert consensus to help organizations measure, assess and improve performance.

American Board Of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) is the certifying board for the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the United States and is recognized and approved by the Council on Dental Education of the American Dental Association. Overseen by an eight-member Board of Directors, the objective of ABOMS is to elevate the standards of oral and maxillofacial surgery through a certification and maintenance of certification process that fosters excellence and encourages learning, thus promoting the delivery of superior health care.

Our certification process assures the public that certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons have successfully completed a rigorous peer evaluation process by requiring surgeons to present and maintain appropriate professional credentials, and demonstrate the requisite training, experience and knowledge.
